Go Green is an overview course introduces a sustainability challenge every week with hands-on STEM projects to match (think solar jars, green roofs, vivariums, and tech recycling). Each class will showcase innovative solutions at work in the world today.
Areas of Exploration: Climate change, green building, waste reduction, water conservation, renewable energy, ecosystems, social systems, microfinance, problem solving. Class Format: Six 90-min. meetings, once per week. Tuition: $175 tuition plus $30 supply fee per student, max 12 students.
Girls For Good is a social enterprise to engage girls in the exciting journey to discover, explore, and create sustainable solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. Sustainability is the crucial intersection between the protecting the environment, advancing society, and developing the economy. Creative sustainability solutions will be found by inspiring the next generation of girls with hands-on experience in science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) focused on changing the world.
Girls for Good partners with elementary schools, parent teacher associations (PTA), and organizations to provide after school programs. Six-to-eight weeklong sessions in the fall, winter, and spring will introduce girls to a broad sustainability curriculum.
